Insulation Helper (Non Exempt)

Beginner to 5 years experience and on the job training or equivalent classroom training. Should be proficient in installation of most common materials as trained on the job.

• Secure common insulation materials to pipes, ducts, & equipment
• Weather proof and finish insulation with field applied jackets and coatings
• Insulation and vapor seal for low temperature installations
• Unload and store materials – keep materials orderly
• Follow safety precautions
• Build scaffolding
• Fill out time cards
• Travel to multiple job sites within a wide area
• Follow simple detailed instructions from lead insulation mechanic
• Cleanup continuously
• Should be progressing in trade skills and able to do small jobs without supervision
• Serve as insulation mechanic on small projects under close supervision of area foreman and project manager
• Other duties as needed

Must have the language and math skills needed to perform duties. High School Education or GED would generally provide the skills needed.

• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb at least 2/3 of a work day
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds
• Vision – must be good or correctable with glasses

Must be able to work in outside weather, hot and cold inside conditions, areas where there may be toxic and caustic chemicals, moving machine parts, vibrations and loud noise. Must order and use safety equipment as needed. Work assignments will change often with different conditions and must be able to adjust.
